Dennis Wise and Rio Ferninand
In my opinion Rio Ferdinand is the most overrated player ever. I never feel comfortable when he's playing for England. He likes to think himself a skillful, ball playing footballer...but I worry when he's on the ball. I think he can be clumsy, and panics under pressure. He's always looking to blame other players for his shortcomings and if I had a pound for every time football pundits cite Ferdinand being responsible for conceding goals due to being out of position, I'd be a wealthy man. But then on another day the same pundits suggests he's the greatest defender in the world.
Dennis Wise- Need I say more.

I could never stand the over rated thugs like Vinnie Jones, David Batty, and Roy Keane when they were players.

It annoys me how people thought Ronnie Moore WAS RUFC. He couldn't give a toss when he thought he was off to Ipswich.
Can't stand Chris Suker. When RUFC played Tanmere at Millmoor he was positioned right in front of us on the right wing. My husband gave him some right stick for putting his finger up at the crowd (behind his back). The RUFC fans really wound him up. lol
Can't forgive Johnny Mullin for leaving RUFC when he did.

Chris Shooooker was ok for us at Barnsley, it was a shame that he was allowed to goto Tranmere.
As for him being annoying, I agree! He was like this against us, on loan for Hartlepool, in the season that he signed for us. One of those players who you dont mind as long as hes doing it for your team, and not against your team.

There are loads of players or managers that you could put on this thread but I'll just highlight one from each of the categories......
.....it just happens to be the same person.
Bryan Robson - an over-rated, injury-prone player and a terrible manager.

dave cussack over rated as a player even worse as a manager - i think he managed to get us and millers relegated in one season kevin mcintyre ultimate judas- it was fantastic when we beat chester in play off semi final and the stick he got. although we hate windass when he plays against us i'm sure if he was in our team we'd love him. mcphail for making a meal of a hard tackle with doolan !!!!!

Doolan's tackle is the most remembered because of the consequences, but to be fair Barnlsey were by far the more aggressive over the 5 games. How Jacob Burns got away without breaking anyone's legs, I don't know. You can't blame Barnsley of course as I suppose it's the only way they figured they could beat us....if they maimed us Joking apart, I'm really looking forward to next month and the two games against Barnsley. roverdude I agree about McIndoe, he was pure class at Donny. How do you reckon SO'D would have handled him? I reckon he would have got even more out of him. SO'D is like a father figure to the players, and that's what McIndoe needed towards the end of his time at Donny. By all accounts he had a few personal problems.

Ok heres a serious question for once, to the Barnsley and Donny fans... would any of us welcome Micky McIndoe back if he were to re-join us?
I would any day of the week because he always performed for us (in my own opinion). And thats what I want from my team's players. Putting aside the disloyal attitude and wanting to 'improve' himself, when he left Donny for us, and us for Wolves, he still out played the majority of team mates at the time.
And a message to that funfair childrens donkey Kayodi Odejayi... Michael McIndoe also scored goals despite not being an out and out striker. Please take note of this Kay Odi, anytime will do, preferably wqithing the next 82 years!

I would take mcindoe back NOW. Rovers are a bit lightweight on the left side, even though we have Elliott Elliott who Elliott never get a chance Roberts gets overrun... when making forward runs imho, so a player like mcindoe could make Sean O'driscolls machine work even more efficient ;D ooo the possibilities

Does anybody else care to answer this...
Would you ever rule out a former player or manager returning to your club if they left in questionable circimstances?

I would definately have McIndoe back, and I reckon the SO'D way is tailor made for someone like him. Penney was rigid with his formation....... two wingers and 100mph football. Imagine Macca being asked to play a more a complete role up front and coming from deep?
