Really looking forward to the new season ahead and with my red coloured specs on i think we may suprise one or two people this term, the new signings along with the fact that De Silva and Heinz Muller will be back at the end of August from long term injury gives me great cause for optimism. If we can keep hold of Brian Howard and bring in the much rumoured proven striker then who knows !!! who would have predicted Stoke and Hull City making it to the premiership last season ? The bookies also agree and have cut our odds from 80/1 to 33/1 over the last week or two, would still settle for mid-table if it was offered to me now.......but we are looking a very competitive side this term with competition for place's in every department..........very optimistic.

You've seen a lot more activity than we have, that's for sure. I'm not overly concerned though...I have faith in the SO'D.

If we can continue to show the same improvements we saw last season (before the cup run turned us into a joke in most of the league matches), Id be delighted with mid table.
Im not making the mistake of expecting too much though, and anything other than a relegation scrap will be a bonus.
As for the Brian Howard saga, thats gone on far too long now.

I'll be glad when the season starts so we can see exactly how good or bad we are. Davey and Barnsley know the crack....he felt the need to spend a few bob. I don't know if Donny do...for all we know the team he has put together could be good enough for the Championship.

Thats the beauty of the ccc script and why in my opinion its the most interesting league in Europe at the moment, nobody's really sure how things will work out as the season draws ever nearer,if you look at the clubs who were fighting relegation last season,Leicester,Southampton,Coventry,Wendy's and Norwich who could have predicted they would struggle,in fact Leicester and Coventry spent heavily last close season, then you get Bristol City fresh from League 1 up at the top for most of the season and un-fancied Hull and Stoke City going all the way to the Premiership. I have said on more than one occasion Donny may be far more suited to the ccc than league 1,that said a goalscorer is vital to your survival chance's and they do not come cheap,Scunthorpe and Colchester bit the dust because they sold the golden nuggets in Jamie Cureton and Billy Sharp and paid a heavy price in not really replacing them despite having the cash to do it,anyone with the proven goal-scorer tag is very un-likely to want to join any of the new boys until they are established no matter what the terms are, they can get very good terms at the more established bigger clubs and thats the problem for Donny this season.

Ive thought as well that the Champship is desperate for better coverage. Sky shows us far too much of the Premship as though its the best league in the world. Its seriously getting boring now, with the so called big 4 looking like finishing in the top 4 before we're even at the end of August. I reckon there is a much bigger audience out there who could really enjoy what the Champship has to offer. Its a totally unpredictable league where all sorts of things can and usually do happen. Edit: As for Kevin Phillips, hes turned us down today and chose Birmingham and the West Midlands
