I used to love Seabrook's salt n vinegar, you could sometimes get them in the clubs when the bloke came in with his cockels and mussels!!
As for the best current main brand, absolutely nobody does it better than Walkers.

Absolutely great wasn't it acido...the Welfare and Working Men's Clubs. We used to have tripe, black pudding and salted peanuts on the bar. Health and safety never came into at all. The chap used to come around carrying his basket of sea food..... Salvation Army trying to sell their copies of Watchtower.... and a naff comedian who nearly ends up fighting with one of the hecklers.......then bingo! You dare not talk during bingo. My local only had one room.....a concert room, lounge and tap room all in one. Soon as bingo came on we had to stop playing pool...get of the fruit machine, and keep stum. Those were the days... I absolutely loved them.

My fav crisps when I was a kid, were Golden Wonder Sausage and Tomato flavour. I did snack duty in the juniors, and the teacher said we could eat any burst packets. Funny how Sausage and Tomato were always bursting open...isn't it? My favs now, are Walkers Chicken, and Smokey Bacon flavour.

Yes, that brings back memories of the clubs. I dont remember the salty nuts on the bar (!!), or things like tripe and black pudd. But the bloke with his basket sometimes got told to shhhhhh, if he had the nerve to come round selling while the bingo was on If you dare talk during the bingo, or even sit in the seats that some club members insist belong to them, your treat like the scum of the earth. Great days.

Tripe on cockail sticks in vinegar.... I'm sure animallittle can recall the days they used to have snacks on the bar like that. Sitting on other people's seats..... now that was a cardinal sin I really miss those times. I've three kids over 18, and I just wish they had the chance to experience life in the 70s and 80s....they would have loved it.

I'm much too young to remember the 70's and 80's.
