But I get all my jokes off you, scriptman! Yes...get yourself a ticket for the wolves game. I'll give you my ST seat no. so you can try and sit next to us. We'll show you what a REAL football team looks like. p.s. There are plans for a new training ground at Rawmarsh; to be ready for the start of next season...so looks like we won't be borrowing the keepmoat for too long.

I reckon if you're getting a good deal at the Keepmoat then you ought to stay there. The training facilities are second to none, and with all due respect will be far superior to anything Rotherham United will be able to afford until they get back on track. I think sometimes it comes down to pride. A lot of people connected with Rotherham United will feel it derisory and embarrassing to be using facilities in another town where there is a degree of animosity between supporters, but if it's working, there's no need to fix it.

I can see what you're saying, scriptman...I don't know a lot about Tony Stewart, but I think he's a man with the finances, contacts and business acumen. He's taking owning a football club very seriously, and having the training ground at Rawmarsh, with the plans for a new stadium being at Parkgate... makes sense.
He has big plans for the club. He was quoted as saying that it's not about money and just keeping a football club afloat...but it's about playing football and having a successful team (or words to that effect).
Robins has extended his contract. He told me what his original contract was for when he first signed as manager, and I never told anyone, 'cos no one else seemed to know, so I never disclosed it...but it is public knowledge that his present contract means it runs for another 4 years. And Stewart has given RUFC 5 years to get into the Championship.
We'll be swapping shirts before we know it! ;D

Just changing the subject from a crappy team like we have at the moment (F*OFF Simon Davey)...
If Rotherham stay up this season Foo, you deserve a medal for doing so. Best of luck in doing so. I find it hard to feel sorry for Leeds in their 30 pt deduction but I admit they did superbly in getting all the way to the play off final. Do you seriously think that Rotherham can finish above the drop zone?

As much as I appreciate your gritted teeth praise of Leeds' season last year Acido - we only had a 15 pointer.....
....Rotherham, Bournemouth and especially Luton really have been deficated on.

Yes, it was only 15 pts Exiled, I thought it was twice as bad as that.
Ive also got toothache that Im gritting my teeth so much. Seriously though, I do give credit to Leeds for doing what they did last season. Some fans dont give credit to making it to a play off final, but it means its been a great season, despite the loss in the final.
Really though, these points deductions are getting out of hand and I wonder just what is around the corner for the next club who slips into admin.

It's important that Leeds don't fall into the complacency trap. I personally believe they are by far the strongest team in League One, but whereas last season Leeds were up for every point in an effort to overcome the points deduction...this season other teams will be fired up when playing them because they are expected to dominate the league. I'm no fan of Dennis Wise but what he had Leeds doing last season is to fight for every point and with a never-say-die attitude. This was reflected in the last minute goals. Leeds really do have to show that same resolve. Teams are not going to roll over when playing Leeds that's for sure, and if they want to get out of this league they will need to be as motivated as ever.

I think you've got it spot on there Script - I think everyone agrees that Leeds do have the strongest squad but that never does automatically mean that we will go up - as I'm writing this Yeovil have just equalised........
....a fine example of a game that we SHOULD be easily winning but everyone's game is upped and we do not have the siege mentality of last season - we need to improve, let's see what happens in this game.

acido...if we keep playing with as much passion and spirit as I have witnessed the last few weeks (won every game we've played; cup and league) we'll make play offs. But, things could change.
We have a strong team at the moment who have gelled and work well together. Robins was spot on to make Pablo Mills captain. His presence gets the fans going, and he inspires the rest of the team.

What does it feel like though away from Millmoor? Is it a novelty at the moment, do you reckon the new home surroundings will lose its appeal eventually, like a cold English winter does to a Brazilian?
I cant imagine what it would be like if we ever played our home games away from Oakwell.

Millmoor had atmosphere...but the club had no future. Because the place was so old, safety precautions weren't excuted in a way that pleased the fans...in fact, I heard many fans say they wouldn't support Rotherham while we stayed at Millmoor. I'm pleasantly surprised at the turnout we get, and the amount of season tickets we've sold. Fans are fickle, and many wouldn't support a club that they felt had no future...now we HAVE a future. I like DV...the atmosphere is ok, and history is still to be made. RMBC are getting invloved (so i've heard) and plans are being drawn up for a community stadium in Rotherham. The futures bright...it's red and white. UTM
