Hull are looking to eventually increase the size of the KC Stadium to 40,000. Do you think they are being a little unrealistic/optimistic in beleiving Hull City are a big enough club to get that level of support? I don't think they are being unrealistic. I spent a few years commuting to Hull, and got to know the place pretty well. The city centre isn't the largest you'll see, but the urban sprawl of the area is, and if you include the likes of Beverley, Cottingham, and other outlying areas, you're talking about a population over 70% the size of Sheffield. Added to the fact, Hull is a one team city, and is relatively isolated from the next town or city with a football team of substance. I can remember Wembley being packed with Hull and Hull Kingston Rovers fans for a rugby league final. I reckon Hull could quite easily average 35k in the Premiership, and more.

yeah but the town is now full of non football supporting people from outside of uk. casting my mind back to our encounters the crowd was full of young chavs - if prices are kept down they will fill it. i think hull might surprise a few teams this season

Wasnt that the 1980 RL final, where the red side scraped a lucky win over Hull FC? London didnt know what had hit it, being full of Humbersiders

I've often thought that myself. When the stadium was being built, I had a drive down to the portakabin where the video and model was on display, and the chap there said to me that the ground could be extended by adding another tier. I accepted it at the time, but seeing the stadium as it is....like you, I can't see how they can do it without it costing a fortune.

I remember them having a feedback to the city centre in Hull, and it was absolutely deserted on that Saturday.
