I see my other football love, Celtic, have been pulled in the same group as Manchester United in the Champions League draw along with Villareal and Aalborg....
....should be a very interesting group indeed. IF Celtic can finally manage to start winning games away from home (infact drawing would be nice) then they should stand a good chance of getting into the knock-out stages.
Was at Ryan Giggs testamonial at OT a few years ago and the atmosphere before, during and after the game was second to none - thousands upon thousands of Celtic fans descended on Manchester that day and yo can definitely expect more of the same this season.
Can't wait....

once had the opportunity to attend an old firm game at Celtic Park in the mid 90's,never experienced anything like it in my life ....the sheer hatred they have for one another is quite shocking really ..but i guess its more than than a game really ...unreal it was.

Pffft, Glasgow derby/ Theyve got nothing on a Rotherham v Donny game! It'll be a tasty affair the next time we play that's for sure. A meet in the FA Cup would be great. Donny could do with playing the likes of Rotherham, Leeds and Barnsley to improve the atmosphere in the ground. We have a good number of fans wanting to make a noise, but they are all spread around the stadium because old blokes and families with young kids have got in first with their season ticket behind the goal. I have known people who have been to the big English derby games.... and who have also been to the old Old Firm game, and they all say the Celtic/Rangers match is different class.

.....and together we'll make sweet music. I was thinking of 'Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves'.... us of course being the gypsies and your social group making up the latter. All together now... I was born in the wagon of a travellin show, My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw, Papa would do whatever he could.....'

Been at many an Old Firm game and I have to say it is unrivalled, on British shores anyway.
I've had the "pleasure" of walking out of Ibrox and being sprayed by bottles of piss, a group of Rangers fans attacking my old man and me but there has been times when the Celtic fans are just as bad.....
....hey but it's only a game

Just out of interest Exiled, how long have you had an interest in Celtic? We had a very popular player called Ronnie Glavin at Barnsley for a number of years, and he originally came from Parkhead. I think he played alongside Kenny Dalglish when they were at Celtic. As for who has the more passionate local derby, thats up for opinion of course. I dont feel the same dislike towards Sheff Wensday as most of the reds fans do, because Im not from South Yorks. I actually enjoy our rivalries with Huddersfield and Bradford more than the Owls. Ive great memories of us playing games against Rotherham from back in the glorious 1980-81 season. Remember we were both promoted that season, so we were all happy Although I still think we deserved the 3rd Division title ahead of you

I can recall going to a Sheffield Wednesday v Sheffield United game on Boxing Day in the late 1970s. Wednesday won that game 4-0. There must have been close to 50k there that day, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The best by a single set of fans has to be the Leeds fans at Wembley last season. The noise they made singing the 'Marching on Together' song was sensational. St James Park in full throttle is deafening.... and the Bristol Rovers supporters made a great sound with their rendition of 'Goodnight Irene' at the Millennium Stadium.
