Was that the pink flat square bubblegum whereby you got cards or folded up comic sheets in the packet with it? I can remember them. I can smell and taste it now It makes you feel really nostalgic when you're prompted to recall little details like that. Basil Brush always reminds me of Donny Rovers. I grew up in Hyde Park and so I never had far to walk home after the game. When I got home, Basil Brush would always be on the telly, followed by Jim'll Fix It.

Bazooka joe's certainly can remember those, you use to be able to send off for all sorts of stuff with them, camera's,binoculars, joke stuff and even pen-knifes ...imagine that today.....mind you i can remember in our local hardware shop you could just go in at 9 or 10 years old tip your pocket money on the counter and walk out with a 6 inch hunting knife complete with sheath.....how time's change.

Your uncle ('R' I think his name started with) was there a good few years in the 70s and early 80s wasn't he roverdude? Your cousin went to the same school as me, the one in Bessacarr, although I only knew her due to her dad having a pub. She was in a different year at school to me. Chequers WMC was my local, it was a mile or so down the road.
