I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve right now - the new Bond film coming out next month and it looks absolutely fantastic. it carries on from where Casino Royale left off and Bond goes searching for revenge....
I've always been a massive Bond fan and admit that I did like it's cheesiness but I am glad that it has (because of the success of the Bourne Trilogy) gone for a more darker theme - I think the idea of Bond slapping a girl on the arse, sending her for a drink and saying he has "man's talk" to get on with are now well and truly in Bond's past.
Daniel Craig was a fantastic choice and I hope to see him do 2 or 3 more - he's just the ice-cold sort of character that was needed. Brosnan was doing my nut in.

memo to scriptman- Don't use Bond theme in next week's quizPhew!! When I saw the title of your message exiled, I thought you wanted to chat about Quantum Physics I used to watch the James Bond films before I met the wife. She can't stand them, which means I've not got to like them too now We have a very understanding relationship......she demands and I obey.

That sounds very familiar to the wife and mine's reationship Script - life's hard eh Nothing would stop me from watching the Bond films though, I think they are fantastic fun and wouldn't miss them for the world. You should really take a look at Casino Royale - gone is the chauvinism that dogged all the previous films and had many a woman annoyed.... ....it's all about the action now.

Ive also got good memories of watching the Bond films at the pictures, when it was Roger Moore back in the 70s.
The man with the golden gun was my favourite (I think)!!
I thought Timothy Dalton was ok, and unfairly criticised. The living daylights and License to kill werent that bad.
The best Pierce Brosnan film was his first one, Goldeneye. they just went downhill after that. It was hard though listening to Sean up the blades Bean, not talking with his Sheffield accent.
Ive not seen any of the new ones, yet!

My husband takes great issue with the fact that men should be respectful to women. He HATES Bond films, but I love 'em! lol Like you, scriptman, I can't watch, for this reason. Not that he can stop me, but we watch programmes that we BOTH want to watch...and if we can't agree, we turn the tv off. lol My fave Bond is Connery, and my fave Bond film has got to be Dr. NO. I like to kid myself that I look like a young Ursula Andress...well...I can dream can't I? lol BTW...did anyone else watch the documentary a few months ago about Ian Flemming. He really was a sexist pig! lol
