I'm not saying sack him..far from it, but his system clearly is not working. Teams are doing to us this season exactly what Brighton, Yeovil, Tranmere, and Bournemouth did to us last season, only teams in the CCC have the confidence and ability to counter at pace and punish us. Coppinger and Wellens are not getting forward so we need an outlet....and not the long diagonal balls we see from Mills. Why replace Byfield and Guy with Hayter and Heffs? It left us with absolutely no pace when we needed to chase the game. And then to see Heffs being used on the left was cringe worthy to say the least. Surely we needed Heffs to do what Heffs does best and that's to loiter with intent in the 18-yard box. Teams are laughing at us. Score a goal, stop Wellens and Copps and they are guaranteed a win. SO'D needs to switch things around. He needs to consider other options...and the sooner the better.

This is the nature of life in the ccc script, you get found out and pretty sharpish too and the opposition as you rightly say have the players and the ability to hurt you,to be fair it would be a bit of a worry if i were a Donny fan too,Southampton are no great shakes despite the name and from what i have read they were in control of the game yesterday from start to finish,it wont get any easier either and you are straight into two local derbys, which to be fair maybe no bad thing, but at the end of the day yourselfs like us need a goalscorer and that can take a whole lot of pressure of you, while neither of us have one we are destined to struggle at this level although the arrival of Dean Windass tomorrow may be the answer for us short term, especially if he grabs the winner next saturday.

Are you SURE your not talking about Simon Davey there Script? That just about sums up all this blokes mistakes. Heres to another 0-0 draw for us both on Satdy.

Southampton did a job on us. Like animallittle said, they are not the greatest of teams but neither were Bournemouth last season or Yeovil and they too did a good job on us. It was deja vu. If teams sit back, Donny will shine, but it's like saying 'can you just stand back a little so we can play nicey nicey football'. Make no bones about it, Southampton worked tremendously hard for the victory on Saturday. They were first to every ball, hard in the tackle, and had 10 men behind the ball when they needed to. Added to this, they broke at pace and left us exposed. The problem we seem to have is an inability to switch things around when we are chasing the game.

cant see where we are going to score script never win. we could do with windass just to mix it up. lewis guy improved so much last season but now looks totally out of his depth, copps if he beats a man has to try and go round him again. i agree with what you say teams have only to absorb pressure and hit us on break, thats the big difference at this level chances are taken

roverdude- I agree now with what you said last year and that is the need for wingers as an option. I saw enough last season, even through the bad times, to remain a tad optimistic because I thought we had some of the league better players and an astute manager. The CCC seems to be a more intelligent league with much more tactical nous. The managers in the CCC are equally astute as SO'D and the players are better. A lot of our goals came from midfield, but Copps and Wellens are being restricted by good defenders, so we look positively lightweight going forward. We play great football except where it counts. I would definitely consider pushing Copps out wide, having Elliot or Woods play on the left and Heffs and Byfield in the centre. We have been playing 4-3-3 but it might as well be simply a 4-6-0. Heffs is not a wide player, he is not a deep player. I am certain he will get goals if allowed to play his natural game, and that is to sniff around the area.

script unfortunately everyone knew that the squad needed strengthening last season, and that a goalscorer was a priority. SOD seems to think that this team is good enough...WRONG..JJ (who i admit to being a fan of) is totally out of his depth at this level - he always ran his heart out and had a nuisance value, however he is playing against smarter players and is being penalised everytime he goes for a ball. i think our midfield is capable of playing at this level, but there is no point in winning accolades for the type of football we are playing and then getting relegated.
Lockwood came back in and looked useful but everytime he plays Mills has a howler, though o 'connor was terrible again last night, one footed player and read the game badly last night.
Scunny scored goals but got relegated stats dont lie 9 games 4 goals...please get it sorted SOD before its too late

roverdude- You would have got a rise out of me last season...but I entirely agree with you this time around. I always thought we would get better, and I like to think I was vindicated because of the promotion...but this season we're on top of our game and not winning. I just can't see a silver lining with the system and formation SO'D is playing and with the current crop of strikers.

never posted to get a rise script, its just so frustrating, we have the nucleus of a decent side, we are getting bums on seats (although its embarrassing looking over at the empty coporate seats) but people are fickle and only the result stays in their mind. the fresh air shot of priceys summed up everything good and bad about our game - a fantastic bit of football with no end result
