Well Got all excited this week....the 1911 Census was available. Then I find out it's NOT on Ancestry like the others and it doesn't have a subscription based membership and you have to buy credits to see anything. Sooooooo I tried it in it's "new home" www.1911census.co.uk/What a load of crap......... I asked for various names............no one of that name I asked for various street names.............either nothing or only some of the house numbers I asked the same questions again.....and got different answers WTF!!!! In the end I was so frustrated I just gave up. And to cap it all....I need the 1911 Census for Scotland...but that bloody thing ain't going to be available until 2011 Rant Over.......but I'm still not happy

findmypast bought the rights to the 1911 census so unless ancestry pay them a very very large sum of money then ancestry will never have access to them
the 1921 census will be the last one until 1951 as the 1931 was destroyed by fire and there wasnt one in 1941 due to a war but hopefully all future researchers should be ok as we will already have all that information down due to it being in more or less our era

I think the prices charged by Findmypast is way over the top. £3 to view a census sheet PAT4LEEDS If you think we have problems re: the missing years.. In Ireland the records office suffered a major flood and millions of records were destroyed. Wortleygirl I've had the same problem. It took me ages to find my great-grandmother and it should have been so simple. I've also family in North Yorks and Durham, and they haven't been released yet. I understand that Ancestry don't intend to publish the 1911 census until 2011. I'm led to believe that Findmymypast had to go through considerable expense and proceedings to bring us the 1911 census a couple of years early.... probably why they are charging so much in wanting to recoup their money.

Script
Looks like to get any decent info for 1911 I'll have to wait for Ancestry. At least on there you can find things.
And don't mention Irish records.................I can't find any trace of my Great Grandad's family...he was born there and I know he had brothers and possibly sisters........but can I find anything.................not on your Nellie.
