A bit on the morbid side I know....but interesting all the same. It's basically your five favourite songs. I went to a funeral a couple of years ago, and in the service all what was played was Celion Dion.....and I can't stand her...so the service seemed to last forever. So what songs songs would you choose. If you can, try and provide youtube links.... not of your funeral of course..I meant the songs ;D I would go for: 1. Reflections of my life - Marmalade 2. Lost in Space - Lighthouse Family 3. Fool to Cry - Rolling Stones 4. Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel 5. Run to me - Bee Gees It's actually really hard to do.... I must have changed mine about a dozen times. I love Northern Soul.....but I can't fit one in.... or punk.... Buzzcocks, Clash... I'm still not convinced that they are my right choices I might as well leave it to the wife ;D

I wouldn't want owt too depressing played, and i'd definately want the death of me to be recognised as the death of a Leeds fan. "Marching on together" is a must - www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkENv73GtXAAnother of my all time favourites, and something my family will probably agree fitting, would be "Oasis - Live forever". I've always insisted I am immortal, and have the chinese symbol tattooed on my arm. Obviously I'm not, but I believe I am- if that makes sense? www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9GiLnZyUgMBeing the nature/wildlife lover that I am, my next choice would have to be "Elton John - Circle of life". A great song by a great performer, and a message that death isn't just the end, but the beginning. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ok_3j0Ijd4My regular choice on the karaoke, and a song all my friends and family know me by.... also fitting for the occasion. "The Bee Gees - Stayin' alive". www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rKo7Tf5YBQAnd a classical edge to the funeral, possibly the greatest piece if music every written. The bringer of jollity - "Jupiter, composed by Holst". www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B49N46I39Y Just missing out - Because it's my favourite song out at the moment, "Gabriella Cilmi - Sweet about me". www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B49N46I39YAnd even though I can't stand the bint, I feel this song would be perfect to introduce the buffet. "Britney Spears - Do you want a piece of me". www.youtube.com/watch?v=89oS4SN4mNg

When you had 50,000 Leeds fans singing 'Marching on together' at Wembley....it sounded awesome. Any Donny fan who says anything different is maybe a tad economic with praise. I only wish Donny had some kind of anthem.
What is the history behind the song Marko? I seem to recall it's been around since the 1970s.

It was actually releases as a B side I think, back in the 70's (way before my time). It's played at Elland road before every match, and we sing it throughout the game. Always makes my hairs stand on end when I here pretty much the whole stadium singing it, and like you say - at Wembley it was awsome! I bought it in the early 90's so I think it was re released for the 1992 championship win? Obvioulsly it's had more success than the A side though.

My 5 would be:
1.You'll never walk alone 2. Abide with me
Those 2 are footy related, but I think the words to those mean lot to me.
3. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody 4. Queen - Innuendo 5. John Farnham - You're the voice
I think from those songs you will get an idea of the type of person I am. Each of them in their own way are great songs that have good words and good music.

Marko I seem to remember another Leeds song....one where they went through the players names. Perhaps that was the 'A' side... or it might be an extended version of 'Marching on together'. Pintolager I found choosing five so hard to do...and felt guilty about the ones I didn't choose. I think sometimes it depends what mood you're in. .... today I would have chosen the 'Frog Chorus' ;D.... or 'Agadoo' .....then again.

Fair point about the mood of the time and it is true, though I would definately have the first two simply because of the footy connection.

No, you're right. "Leeds United" was the A side. It sounded a bit like Marching on together, but sort of with the tune in reverse. It does mention a lot of the players, which I suppose is why Marching on together was preffered on the terraces.
