I would have preferred to stay at Millmoor, but Ken Scrooge wouldn't do a deal that was good for the club, so it's DV here we come.
We were dying at Millmoor, and the Booths (in my opinion) were squeezing the life out of the club.
Let's hope that this move will generate more interest from would-be fans, and if Tony Stewart gets it right and ticket prices are realistic, it could mean a brighter future.
What we need now, is for RMBC to pull their finger out and get a community stadium built for Rotherham.
I'm hoping that we'll still play on Saturdays. I can't see it being a problem, as DV is nearer Rotherham than any of the other clubs in Sheffield, and away supporters would use Sheffield transport no more than they would have used it to get to Rotherham, anyway.
UTM!

You've had a raw deal, but the guy at Rotherham now (Tony Stewart) doesn't seem to take any crap. It's a nice stadium as well...a lot bigger than the Keepmoat....but you're gonna have to make some noise because I can't see the acoustics being up to much.

Not great for the millers but not the end of the world either,at least they are still a football club in business,i can remember Charlton Athletic having to re-locate to Selhurst Park for a few years while they re-organised things and when they did eventually return to the Valley they were a much better and bigger club for it. Lets hope the Millers can bounce back because nobody wants to see the club go to the wall,i wish them all the best.

Sometimes it's difficult to say things without sounding patronising if your own team are doing well.........but the Rotherham fans deserve a break. It's been dragging on now for sometime.

It could possibly be a good thing for the club, success on the pitch is now a priority in order to keep people attending Don Valley. I dread to think what might happen if we linger too long in the basement.
Obviously its disappointing having to leave Millmoor behind, as much as it was a dump, it was ours and i have spent a lot of my life there and had many good and bad experiences there, and its a shame to leave under these circumstances too, and not knowing for sure whether the Barnet game was going to be the last ever, if we knew for certain, then i'm sure there would have been a capacity crowd and Millmoor could have had a good send off.
The thing i'm worried about is the length of time we will be away from Rotherham. You only have to look at Brightons problems to see that it aint always as simple as building a new ground and moving back, they've not had a proper home for the best part of 15 years with no hope in sight.
Its not like we're moving to a place with a good catchment area for floating fans either, we're moving to a city that attracts around 40,000 people to watch its football teams.
So promotion is a must, and then we simply have to be challenging at the top in League 1 to keep bums on seats, the odd huge cup draw could come in handy too with potential for a 25,000 crowd.
I'll be at DV for as long as the club is there, thick or thin. I just have worries that there will be major complications ahead when it comes to moving back to Rotherham.

It's down to Rotherham Council pulling their finger out...i'm not holding my breath.
On the pitch...I have faith in Robins, he exceeded my expectations last season (even with all the crap that was going on) he'll do even better this season; so we'll hopefully have fickle bums on seats.

i think in the long run its going to be good for the millers,he has been taking the pee for too long now (mr booth),he had to be shown he can not dictate like this to the club and for them to survive this is paramount, also for the first two seasons its going to generate a bit of extra interest with both home and away fans wanting to see a new stadium,i hope they can get by there for say 5 seasons and hopefully rotherham council will get there act together and build a community stadium, the problem roth council have is the same as doncaster they will be looking closley at the keepmoat smc losing money and im sure this will ut them off a bit,and also they have huge venues just over the m1 in sheffield that can compete for other streams of revenue apart from football
